Description
The Jacob Eureka Red Peacock, scientifically known as Aulonocara jacobfreibergicomes, originates from many locations in Lake Malawi. Peacock Cichlids typically inhabit the area where the rocky beach meets the sandy lake bottom. Peacocks forage for food through the sand and substrate
The Eureka Red Peacock is well-favored for its exceptional and vibrant hues. The fish has vivid oranges and reds that provide a striking contrast with the bright blue markings on its face, tail, and fins. These Cichlids can grow from 14 to 15 cm.
Gender disparity
Female individuals lack the bright coloration exhibited by their male counterparts. The colors of the fish is primarily determined by its size, age, maturity, and dominance.
Temperament and Compatible Tank Companions
The most compatible tank mates are peaceful and amiable fish that occupy the higher areas of the tank. Other Peacock Cichlids are highly compatible tank mates for Eureka Red Peacock Cichlids, as long as a ratio of one male to every two females is maintained to reduce dominant tendencies.
