Description

The term “Red Mammons” refers to a certain concept or entity, but without further context, it is difficult to provide a precise definition. Scientifically referred to as (Cichlasoma sp), this fish is an exceptionally uncommon breed. The Red Mammon is a hybrid species of Flowerhorn Cichlids that originated in South Asia. What distinguishes them is their vibrant red colouring that covers their entire bodies, making them a highly desired addition to any freshwater aquarium.

Gender Disparity

Discerning the differences between male and female fish is a captivating pursuit. Generally, males are usually larger, however there may be some outliers. Male individuals possess a conspicuous kok or nuchal hump on their foreheads and frequently showcase more vibrant and intense colours. On the other hand, females typically have black spots on their dorsal fins, whilst males generally possess longer anal and dorsal fins. As the females enter the breeding phase, their bellies may have an orange coloration.

Personality and Suitable Tankmates

A Red Mammon distinguishes itself from other cichlid species by exhibiting a lower level of innate aggression. Typically, they exhibit a calm demeanour and possess strong levels of energy, as long as they are given sufficient space and territory of their own. However, it is not advisable to house a Red Mammon cichlid with fish that are both huge and excessively aggressive, particularly in confined spaces.
