Description
The Tropheus Bemba Flame species is native to the shallower regions characterised by rocky terrain in Lake Tanganyika. The Tropheus Bemba Flame, a species of Tropheus, is well favoured among hobbyists in Africa. Similar to other Tropheus species, these fish are renowned for exhibiting some of the most vibrant hues of all the species inhabiting the African rift lakes. The Bemba tropheus species stands out due to its jet-black body hue, which is more visually appealing compared to the dark blue colour commonly found in other tropheus species. In addition, they possess a vibrant orange stripe that extends from the tip of their pectoral fin to the base of their ventral fin. The greatest length of the Bemba is 13 cm.
Gender Disparity
Male individuals typically have a significantly greater amount of coloration on their dorsal fin, but females generally display minimal or no coloration.
Temperament and Suitable Tank Companions
Tropheus fish are typically mildly aggressive, but they exhibit a significantly heightened level of aggression during the breeding process. The primary target of hostility will typically be other Tropheus. Appropriate companions for the fish would include other species with comparable disposition and fully grown dimensions, such as Peacock Cichlids, Electric Yellows, and Gobies.
